Summer Dean is a Texas-born country singer-songwriter who transitioned from a decade-long career as an elementary school teacher to pursue music full-time in her late 30s . Raised on a cattle ranch in Clay County, she was influenced by Western swing and Texas waltzes, shaping her authentic honky-tonk sound . Her debut album, Bad Romantic (2021), recorded at Fort Worth’s Niles City Sound, received critical acclaim for its raw, analog production and storytelling that reflects her blue-collar roots . Dean’s sophomore album, The Biggest Life (2023), produced by Bruce Robison, continues her tradition of analog recording, capturing life’s ordinary moments with sincerity . Her contributions to country music have earned her accolades such as the 2023 Ameripolitan Honky Tonk Female of the Year and recognition from the Texas Country Music Awards.
