Find your inner pirate at Port Deposit’s Pirate Takeover - September 20th and 21st
Port Deposit is once again hoisting the Jolly Roger as the town prepares for its annual Pirate Takeover, now in its fourth year. Erica Berge of *Community Connecting Us* joined Cecil TV’s Rob Chirnside to share the excitement building across town.
From flags and decorations on every corner to live cannon demonstrations, belly dancing, mermaids in a 1,000-gallon tank, and the rollicking Skullduggery pirate crew, the weekend promises fun for all ages. Families can enjoy games, music, magic shows, and even a hypnotist, while adults can tap into their inner pirate at Saturday night’s costume contest at Lee’s Landing.
“This is really our gift to the community,” Berge said, noting that the free event is possible thanks to strong local sponsorship and town-wide participation. “The whole town comes together to make it happen.”
With music, street parties, photo vignettes, and plenty of swashbuckling surprises, Port Deposit is ready to welcome visitors to a weekend of adventure on the high seas—right here on the Susquehanna.
