Join in and celebrate the Bicentennial of General Lafayette’s Farewell Tour though Port Deposit. The Town of Port Deposit, the Port Deposit Heritage Corporation and the Harford County Lafayette Bicentennial Committee, are coordinating this event on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

In 1824-25 General Lafayette received a hero’s welcome as the last surviving General of the American Revolution. Come and relive this celebration 200 years later. In Port Deposit, the American Friends of Lafayette will bring the General Lafayette (the Lafayette interpreter in full 1825 wardrobe) to the Town Square at Noon. There will be celebratory speeches, fun music, vendors and a craft table for children of all ages. These events are free to everyone!

Come “Lunch with Lafayette” and then see him off at the Lee’s Landing Dock at 3:30pm with a cannon salute.
The festivities will continue in Havre de Grace beginning at 4pm and end with a grand fireworks presentation.
