NORTH EAST, Md. – Cecil College is proud to announce the establishment of the Upper
Chesapeake Bay Pride Scholarship through the Cecil College Foundation that promotes
workforce training in the region. This scholarship supports LGBTQIA+ students within Cecil and Harford counties who are pursuing their dreams through education.
The Upper Chesapeake Bay Pride (UCBP) is a non-profit organization founded in 2019. It
provides unwavering support and advocacy for queer/LGBTQIA+ people, communities, and
families in Cecil and Harford counties.
The organization is the premier resource for the LGBTQIA+ communities of Cecil and
Harford Counties, providing social opportunities, raising awareness and educating the
community about issues of importance to the LGBTQIA+ community, and partnering with
community organizations to improve the lives of queer citizens. The UCBP accomplishes this
work through collaboration, inclusion, respect, and social justice.
