Big Things Happening at CCPL
Sumer Reading – Our all-ages Summer Reading & Learning Program is happening now! This year’s theme is Unearth a Story, and we have Summer Reading programs happening at every branch. Come on in and get your log! For Kids and Teens – Keep track of each day that you read tis summer and complete fun reading challenges. For every 10 days of reading, earn a reading reward and a chance to win a special prize! For adults – For each completed challenge, bring your Reading Passport to any branch to receive a stamp, a themed bookmark, and an entry for a chance to win a “Book Lover’s Basket.”
Summer Lunches – Free Summer Lunches are available Monday through Friday from 12:00–12:30 PM at the Elkton and North East Branches. Prepared meals are provided at no cost for children and teens ages 18 and under through the Cecil County Public Schools Food & Nutrition Services as part of the USDA Summer Food Service Program.

This one is actually for kids and teens. Join Reptile Wonders: The Nature Center on the Go, for a hands-on interactive program featuring several different insects and arachnids. Learn where the animals are found, what they eat, what eats them, and some unique characteristic about each bug.
Dino Discovery Live!

Travel back to the age of dinosaurs with Dino Discovery Live! Explore fascinating dino facts, see real fossils, and meet live reptiles and birds—including lizards, snakes, and other amazing animals with prehistoric roots.

In this half-day, camp-style workshop, teens will meet local business owners, explore the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, participate in hands-on brainstorming activities, and create their own business plan. The program concludes with a final showcase where participants will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges.
